Project Update: November 17, 2023

The District of Tofino would like to share the progress regarding the Neill Street & Village Green improvements. ⁠

⁠The replacement of the Neill Street water main and stormwater infrastructure is now fully complete.⁠

⁠Road paving and new angle parking is complete, with line painting to follow. ⁠

⁠A new continuous sidewalk along Neill Street connecting Second Street to First Street is also complete.⁠

⁠Upgrades to the basketball court are nearing completion. The court will soon have new posts, backboards, hoops, benches, and fencing installed. The court is planned to be open by the end of November. ⁠

⁠Railings for the new accessible ramps will also be completed by the end of the month.⁠

⁠The tennis & pickleball courts will not be paved this year as crews must wait for warmer temperatures to ensure a quality playing surface. Paving is expected to occur mid-March 2024. Staff have informed user groups and free drop-in pickleball continues to be offered in the Community Hall three times a week.⁠
