The District of Tofino is continuing to work towards improving the safety and condition of Tofino’s Multi-Use Path (MUP). Construction on a section of the MUP damaged by roots will begin on Monday, June 6, 2022.
What is happening?
The work involves the widening and resurfacing of approximately 400 lineal metres of MUP. Root guards will be installed to prevent further damage. The end result will be a smoother, wider and safer MUP between 1258 Pacific Rim Highway (“Hotel Zed”) and 1298 Pacific Rim Highway.
Some vegetation on public property may be removed. Property owners may be contacted directly to discuss issues specific to their property access and/or highway frontage. The contract for the project has been awarded to Gibson Brothers Contracting Ltd.
Please exercise caution and obey signage when navigating through or around the work area.
The District of Tofino appreciates your patience and cooperation during construction and will make every effort to minimize inconvenience to residents and businesses throughout the project.
