Report to the Committee of the Whole: August 18, 2026
At the August 18, 2026, Committee of the Whole meeting, the Committee endorsed the final Recreation and Parks Master Plan, establishing long-term direction for recreation and parks services, facilities, programming, and investment over the next 10 or more years. The plan is organized around three goals, Optimize Infrastructure, Optimize Service Delivery, and Optimize Land Resources, with actions related to trails, recreation facilities, aquatics, parks, community spaces, accessibility, partnerships, and long-term land planning.
The final plan reflects several rounds of Council, Recreation Advisory Committee, and community input. Individual projects and funding decisions identified in the Master Plan will continue to come forward through future strategic and financial planning processes.
